A QUICK NOTE FROM PASTOR KEITH...

In the Gospels, Jesus made two seemingly contradictory statements. In John 8:12, Jesus said He was the light of the world. And in Matthew 5:14-16, He said that His church was to be the light of the world. So, you might be asking, is Jesus the light of the world, or is His church the light of the world? The answer is yes! Jesus is the primary light, and we, His church, are called to be a secondary light by reflecting his light to a world overcome by darkness. This is why we will live out our vision in 2025 by shining the light instead of despairing and complaining about the darkness.

In summary, in 2025 we will strive to RADIATE THE LIGHT OF GOD’S GOODNESS TO OUR COMMUNITIES AND WORLD!

Paul explained the church’s biblical mandate as follows:

Ephesians 5:8-9 NIV

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth)

In this passage, Paul identified three keys to Radiating God’s Light in our World: Goodness, Righteousness, and Truth. First, let’s start with truth. In 2025, we are going to be committed to teaching God’s Truth by offering messages on the weekends that are filled with life-changing biblical truth. Secondly, we will provide ministries and resources to equip our congregation to live righteous lives. The word righteousness, in simple terms, means we live right in our lives because we have been made right with God by what Jesus did for us by giving his life on the cross. Finally, from a foundation of truth and righteousness, we will seek to spread God’s Goodness through our Points of Light Plan.
